Our first club was est. 1939. Underwater hockey or pool hockey is more of just a social game (here at least, who knows what the POMs do?). The two main sites are www.polocrosse.com.au and www.polocrosse.org.au (sorry I don't know how to do hyperlinks). BTW, a bunch of Yanks were here for the World Cup in April... He reminded me of the younger Marine charged with murder in "A few good men". I remember the scene when he asks Demi Moore "Maam do you think we'll get to back to our unit when this all gets straightened out?" The poor kid in the movie didn't realize he was part of someone elses agenda. He thought the truth was a good defense. Fortunately for Collin the truth finally was a good enough defense.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32542246.post-57658808201131030902007-07-11T23:09:00.000-04:002007-07-11T23:09:00.000-04:00"There's no indication that the administration is ..."There's no indication that the administration is engaging in any critical self-reflection as to why students might not have wanted to come back to an institution where dozens of their own professors publicly denounced them".

As far as the Duke admin is concerned, this issue is CLOSED. There is nothing more to be said about it, let alone done about it. It had PLENTY to say (and do) when it believed that some of its white students had raped a black woman. It had NOTHING to say (and do) when it was established that a black woman had falsely accused some of its white students.

A shameless double standard that speaks volumes about the racial double standard that prevails in American higher education, among (many) other places.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32542246.post-14530718970576182222007-07-11T22:44:00.000-04:002007-07-11T22:44:00.000-04:00It would have been foolish for Reade or Collin to ...It would have been foolish for Reade or Collin to even think about returning to Duke.

First and foremost, there are people in Durham who would still like to see them suffer physical pain, and, given a chance, would like to be the one(s) to deliver it. Why would these 2 put themselves in a position where they have to look over their shoulder 24 / 7?

Then there is the question as to why anyone would believe they would give Duke another dime, let alone $100,000, which is what it would cost for 2 more years, after so many of Duke's administration, faculty, and student body turned against them on such flimsy evidence.

Of course, you also have to consider why anyone who has a choice to do otherwise would spend even 5 minutes inside the city limits of Durham.

Face it, Duke, where Reade Seligman and Collin Finnerty are concerned, you and your physical surroundings are not worthy.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32542246.post-36941895704585735812007-07-11T21:30:00.000-04:002007-07-11T21:30:00.000-04:00Who would have access to the key card information?...Who would have access to the key card information? Then it's a different story. I'm a gay man and I really despise how it's become "cool" to knock straight white guys. Actually I never hear gay guys knocking straight guys--it's usually just people in the press and University phonies doing it.As Camille Paglia points out, White males allow us to live our pampered American lifestyles and this is never better illustrated than when a natural disaster occurs.
