Nifong citizens' committee co-chair Victoria Peterson has just been removed from the courtroom, allegedly for threatening a witness. Jackie Brown reports that a security officer witnessed Peterson's behavior, which was wholly unprovoked, and brought it to the attention of authorities with the Bar.
Lane Williamson has just announced that Citizens' Committee co-chair will not be allowed back into proceedings for the rest of the hearing.

ReplyDeleteA vocal Nifong supporter was barred from the proceedings after a break.
Victoria Peterson has showed up at most lacrosse-related events where television cameras were present.
After a break, Peterson was escorted out of the building by State Capitol Police, Williamson announced that a "security issue" resulted in the ejection of one person from the hearing's audience. He did not elaborate and Peterson said she was not given a reason by police.
A uniformed police officer told her she needed to call the Bar to find out why.
Peterson said before the afternoon session began, she remarked to a television reporter that the some in the black community in Durham didn't agree with Cooper's exoneration of the three players. Then, an officer came up to her and told her she couldn't talk about the case. That conversation took place before the afternoon session began, in the foyer of the building, Peterson said

ReplyDeleteShe saw the reporter (a female) talking about her and describing her clothing (she was wearing a floral colored shirt) and they refereed to the fact that she got barred from the courtroom. The camera went to her and back to the reporter.
ReplyDeletethe next thing you know she is standing next to the reporter during the live broadcast. As the reporter is talking she sticks her head in and says, "I wsan't talking loud. I am tired of the press saying bad things about me. It's not true sister." The reporter was shocked and said, "Ms. Peterson we're in the middle of a live broadcast." and they cut back to the studio.
I could not believe it and it was absolutely hilarious. I sure hope that everyone who did not see it gets the chance.

ReplyDeleteThe reporter was obviously very surprised and handled it well. But to see Peterson sidle up next to the reporter and involve herself in their live broadcast is definitely one of the funniest things I have ever seen.
Anyone with info on how others can see it please let everyone know. Hopefully it will be on youtube. I really hope you all who have not seen it get the chance.
Definitely the highlight of the day for me without a doubt.

ReplyDeleteNot to speak for another poster, but I think what they meant by the 'negro agenda' was that blacks are always saying everything is racism..OJ, it was racism, Michael Jackon, Michael Vick, and now even Wesley Snipes...any time a black person is accused of a crime that involves a white person in any way, shape or form they are going to play the race card. Most times it works well. Black men get acquitted of raping white women all the time by playing the race card...she cried rape because she was embarrassed about sex with a black man.

ReplyDeleteIf the accuser had been white, accusing whites or blacks, Nifong would never have brought charges, he wouldn't have brought charges if the defendants were black and the accuser was black. The ONLY reason he did bring charges was because of racism in Durham and how this case would stoke the fires of race hatred among the city's blacks and get him their votes.
Race is also the ONLY reason the national media ran with the story and why the NYTimes to this day all but refuses to admit their reporter was a race baiter himself and wedding to the view of the poor black woman sexually abused by the white man.
She should be procesuted -- too bad she can't be ejected from the planet!

I am not a racist to whites or blacks so don't attack me....but I have to agree that there is definitely a problem in the black community where they seem to blame their problems on white people and racism...like the fact that more blakcs are incorsorated [ spelling? ] as if it isn't possible blakcs have commited more crimes...even though gangs are thriving in their communities. It seems like blacks are always back each other up no matter how wrong they are. In the OJ trial IMO the only reason it was really innocent was because the jury was predo. black and it was a race thing...I mean did you see all those black people rejpicing outside? And then all the black people like Georgia Goslee who refused to accept that the boys where INNOCENT. However, like I said I am NOT racist, and know that not all black people are like that. I mean James Coleman is a perfect example...I'd give him the Nobel Peace prize if I could.

In that regard, she's not much different from the Klan, except that the Klan was partial to those of a lighter complexion. Racist supremacists are all cut from the same cloth. They all hate integration. They all know that their power is derived from racial animosity. They create hate in their in-group against the other group and then ride the wave of hate. It's really a right wing approach which you can see anywhere that some "leader" is trying to rally their group against the outsider group which is defined as a threat or oppressor.
