"Lawsuit Against CNN, Grace in Florida Missing Boy Case to Be Tried Federal Court, Judge Rules
OCALA, Fla. (AP) -- A judge has ruled that a wrongful death lawsuit claiming that CNN's Nancy Grace pushed the mother of a missing toddler to suicide through aggressive questioning on her show will be tried in federal court.
U.S. Magistrate Judge Gary R. Jones ruled Monday that federal court would handle the lawsuit filed by Melinda Duckett's relatives because the involved parties are from different jurisdictions, according to court documents.
The lawsuit was filed in November 2006 and names the talk show host and CNN as defendants.
Grace grilled Duckett on Grace's CNN Headline News show in September 2006 about the disappearance of Duckett's 2-year-old son, Trenton. Duckett fatally shot herself before the network aired the pre-taped interview.
Authorities, who have said they believe Trenton is still alive, have named Melinda Duckett as the prime suspect in his disappearance.
Attorneys involved in the case did not return phone messages left at their offices Tuesday."
Lets see, he didn't read the report, he didn't watch the entire ID session or read the entire transcript, and he never interviewed CM. We know he wasn't meeting with Defense lawyers, besides granting interviews with the media what the hell was he doing the day?

Take a look at some cable news today. There is a story, although underplayed, about a riot that occurred as a result of the celebration of Juneteenth. Juneteenth is celebrated by blacks noting the end of slavery. Seems they have a long list of celebrations for everything under the sun. A whole month in February and more days off to celebrate MLK Day. But little constructive ever results. Is there a picnic day? A collard day? A hip-hop aesthetics day? Like so many times when there is a large congregation for anything, violence erupts. Juneteenth celebrants were atacking policeman physically, mass rioting with the kind of destruction we saw in South Central LA in years past. Some people exist only to destroy and exhibit violence.
3:28pm What city was this? Durham leaders won't admit it but riots would have broken out there if they hadn't been allowed to falsely charge the Duke players. When will this ever end? I'm so sick of them, honestly.
He certainly tried Nifong double speak at the trial - it worked on Titus and Stephens because they were supporting Nifong. It did not work with Lawyer Williamson or the other lawyers (including Freedman and probably Witt). As Williamson and Nifong were classmates in law school, it looks like Mr Lane was well familiar with Nifong's stuff. Now, we see how truly inept this guy is, I can hardly believe he kept this thing going for ten months.
The June-Teenth story I saw was in Austin, TX. A man had hit a young girl with his car (minor injuries) but a crowd of black men surrounded him and threatened him. When another man (Hispanic) came to his defense, they beat him to death. It is a shocking story.
When a large group of AA congregate something destructive always happens. Many towns have had to discontinue their own festivals and family oriented celebrations because groups and gangs of black males hijack the occasion and then violence erupts. Families with children are run away and are unable to enjoy taxpayer supported events because of these thugs. Much of Durham is like that.
Some towns where black college students go for spring break are left in shambles, but if the residents complain they are called racists. I think most people are tired of this. It's not the fault of others that the blacks in this country cannot or will not abide by the same codes of decency. Why should this be ignored? Many are such destructive people and the responsible members of the community will never do anything to bring them in line. Just as they sat and did nothing about this lacrosse fiasco. They enjoyed it because they don't live by the same rules of decency.

Juneteenth is really a Texas thing, although it's spread to other states now. It commemerates June 19th, 1865 which is when the Union general occupying Texas at the close of the civil war first announced the emancipation proclamation (which had been issued 2 years previously) to Texas slaves.
All you guys do know that KC will erase these true stories. Even though discussing this topic explains clearly why the people who live in Durham, NC did what they did and enjoyed it. It explains the very different mindset that exists among the majority of the black population, even though those who are educated sit back and watch right up until the end when Nifong was finally disbarred. ReplyDeleteWe all know that there are good black people, but that certainly doesn't excuse the ever increasingly violent and ugly black underclass. if blacks can cry about slavery from 150 years ago, I'll be damned if I'm going to shut up about what's going on today. People of all races are getting fed up

I recently read a column by Mayor Bell that he wasn't going to choose his panel to investigate the DPD to please other people, but that the panelists chosen were those whom he deemed to be what was needed for his objective.
ReplyDeleteKnowing who most of those panelists are, I have very little faith that Bell wants the whole truth to come out. That entire place is run by a bunch of racists.
Everything is out - In this case, the truth has not set people free.
