Bannon-Nifong Conversation

Given the . . . unusual . . . editing strategy of author William D. Cohan, I thought I would post the video of the testimony in which Brad Bannon revealed a private conversation with Mike Nifong in which the rogue DA exhibited odd behavior.

Of course, not only did Cohan (at the very last minute) cut this passage from his book, but he also eliminated a less-than-flattering interview snippet from his book’s hero and protagonist: “Nifong said of Bannon’s testimony that it was ‘snide’ and that Bannon was ‘a little pissant, is what he is, and there’s no cure for that. Quite frankly, whatever career he has, I wouldn’t want.’”

Nifong's reaction to Bannon just sounds like consciousness of guilt

Is Nifong a Communist?

Hey, Nifong, at least Brad Bannon still has a career, you corrupt, unethical jerk.

It is spooky how similar Nifong's personality is to Cohan's.

Both oblivious to facts inconsistent with their agenda. Both intolerant of contradiction. Both turn surly and bullying towards those who challenge them.

Soul brothers?

Most would not want to be a soul brother to Mike Nifong. Cohan seems not to mind.

In even a semi-perfect world, William Cohan would be "laughed off the stage". Mike Nifong has been disbarred, which most of us think is good, but Cohan, no doubt, will write more books. One can only hope that people will hold somewhere in their mind his performance on the execrable "The Price of Silence", its lack of scholarship, vetting of sources, lack of interviews with many prominent characters in the affair, etc. Let his one-sidedness be a factor in their decisions about any of his further literary efforts.

Don't know anything lately about Brad Bannon, but he seemed to acquit himself very well during the early stages of the Duke Lacrosse fiasco.

I originally thought there must be some higher purpose the author hoped to serve with his book because why else would he write it. Now I understand, the book is an offering to those who thrive in climates where distortion and obfuscation are acceptable, and where they and people like them are not held to pesky ethical standards. People such as this lack empathy (but not sympathy) and they are incapable of responding to issues because all they see is whether others are friendly to them or not. If we thwart them from achieving their goals their way, they may characterize us in uncomplimentary ways such as by applying the vulgar term "pissant". They do this to people with deep integrity and their name-calling serves as entertainment for people similar to themselves.

It illustrates the desire people of Cohan's persuasion have for Tom Wolfe's Great White Defendant.

@ 2:57 p.m. Anonymous: Brad Bannon is still with Joe Cheshire's law firm, Cheshire Parker Schneider & Bryan. His bio page at the firm's site indicates that he was recently appointed to be an Advisory Member of the North Carolina State Bar's Ethics Committee.

Does anyone here know how to find out when Cohan's next media appearances are scheduled?

Thanks.

To 4:11

I think you may be confusing him with the President of Duke University, whose name is, I believe, Brad Dickhead. Or something very close to that.
