The Worst of Witt: "Egregious" Mistakes

After seeing Lane Williamson dismiss his apparent defense--that Mike Nifong, in effect, should receive a "mulligan" for his handling of the lacrosse case--Dudley Witt sums up the thesis of his closing statement: Nifong committed "egregious mistakes." Keep in mind: that was Nifong's defense lawyer speaking.

Sorry Dud...Nifong's actions were intentional and calculated. You can not fool us!

Don't know if anyone has mentioned this already - but if you want to see a MASTERFUL disassembly of the PC culture and how the Group of 88 and other feminists, race-baiters and politicos have been seemingly let off "scot free" - read Kathleen Parker's most recent article: entitled, "Some feminists should share Nifong's shame: Their heedless defense of accuser damaged the cause of real victims" and found here: http://www.charlotte.com/409/story/169473.html. It is simply perfect.

Does Witt have a speech impediment or is he just stuttering because he can't counter Williamson's objections? Either way I can't believe this guy would be charging something like $300 an hour for his services.

Witt in a famous murder trial:

Your honor, my client has owned this gun for 28 years and in this 28 years, not once has he shot and killed another human being. Though he has acknowledged that he knowingly loaded the gun and put it to the victim's head but he did not intentionally kill him. Your honor,
this is an egregious mistake. Can he have a mulligan and play through, please?????

This just adds an increased sense of incredulousness to as just what Nifong may have been thinking in agreeing to go to a hearing on this. The evidence was overwhelming - and admissions against interest were sure to obtain. Can you imagine the "egregious mistakes" comment being repeated in civil (and perhaps criminal)actions soon to ensue. The only thing I can think is that Nifong has had his way with judges for so many years in he thought somehow he was untouchable at a hearing. But an incredible bad judgment on Nifong's part.

Can we have some fun conjecture? If you were Nifong's defense attorney, how would you have tried to defend him?

I'm thinking some kind of insanity angle mixed with blaming the underlings.

To clarify MY imaginary defense of Nifong. If I were his lawyer, I'd think "he's toast on disbarment, I'm really going to use this as the start defending him from criminal charges, and deflect civil charges on to the city and his underlings".

All of this insanity is weighing heavy on my mind. I think I shall turn to music...

But where shall I turn? What's a CONSUMER of knowledge to do?

On the other hand WomenST163 Interpreting Bodies may have new meaning. One wonders if they'll discuss CGM body in this course. Believe it or not, it has pre-requisite requirements and consent of the instructor...

Interpreting Bodies

"How the body has come to define the human in language, law, science, politics and economics. The body's relation to identity and subjectivity. The representation of the body in particular cultural discourses and the social history and dynamic in which that representation has taken place. Prerequisite: Women's Studies 90 or 160 or consent of instructor. Instructor: Staff"

I really don't recall any of this pap coursework being mentioned in the all day college tour when my son visited Duke.
