Judge Hudson has scheduled a hearing on the removal motion for Thursday. Here is the N&O story.

We may actually get the chance to see Nifong cry some real tears as opposed to the contrived weeping we saw in his bar trial.
One can only hope...there is nothing that would cap his role in the "fiasco" and open the eyes of the Durham PD like seeing Mr. Nifong in cuffs.
Hopefully Gottlieb, Addison, and Meehan will soon follow.
A bit off topic for this thread, but an interesting article.

Now, WRAL is saying Judge Hudson has scheduled a hearing on Thursday. Which is it -- or both???
¡ Muy, muy excellente !
Debrah
Does Mr Nifong have to bring an overnight bag ????

What are you talking about? 9:30 on Thursday to hear the civil complaint filed to remove Nifong as DA. What's confusing you?
11:28 ABC and WRAL first reported that Judge Smith scheduled the hearing. Look at the liestoppers blog.
That's why you should stay here instead of going over to the dark side for info ;)
The coward will actually resign to avoid that hearing.
I thought he already resigned at the disbarment hearing? Didn't I hear him say he was resigning?
12:03 -- he said so, but made the effective date, Friday, July 13 (of this year I presume.)
I have never seen a man so hell-bent on self destruction. I truly belive that from everything I've read, Not only is CGM a bi-polar sufferer, but Nifong is as well. His actions described by that traffic court lawyer are very telling to me. It truly is sad to see a person in need of help and able to afford it and still not getting it.
Linwood is fired! See N & O
Lawyers are looking at 30 yrs worth of cases that Nifong had a role in to see if there is anyway to get retrials.
I thought Nifong would resign before now... any bets on whether he'll resign before Thursday's hearing??
Any sane man in this position, anyone less than megalomaniacal, would simply notify Judge Hudson (and Gov Easley) that he resigns effective immediately, or as of the end of the week.
What's the point of subjecting the State, the Judge, and indeed Nifong's own counsel (if he has any) to this hearing on Thursday?
The man is a psycho. He seems to still think he can bullshit his way out of all this, even after the State Bar ruled him to be a liar. He has NOT been smacked-down nearly enough, and his ongoing conduct proves it.
